Indian railways consist of 17 railway zones which were further divided into many divisions.They are:

1)Central railway headquartered in Mumbai

Divisions are Mumbai central,Nagpur,Pune,Bhusawal and Sholapur.

2)Northern railway headquartered in Delhi

Divisions are Delhi,Ambala,Firozpur,Moradabad and Lucknow north.

3)Eastern Railway having controlled from Kolkata

Divisions are Asansol,Howrah,Malda and Sealdah.

4)Southern railway being in Chennai

Divisions are Chennai,Trichy,Madurai,Salem,Palakkad and Trivandrum.

5)Western Railway administered from Churchgate of Mumbai

Divisions are Bhavnagar,Vadodara,Ahmedabad,Mumbai western,Rajkot and Ratlam.

6)South Central zone controlling from Secunderabad

Divisions are Secunderabad,Hyderabad,Vijayawada,Guntur,Guntakal and Nanded.

7)East Coast controlled from Bhubaneshwar

Divisions are Khurda road,Waltair and Sambalpur.

8)East central controlling from Haajipur

Divisions are Sonepur,Danapur,Dhanbad,Mughalsarai and Samastipur.

9)North East frontier Zone having its control from Gauhathi

Divisions are Tinsukia,Lumding,Rangiya,Katihar and Alipurduar.

10)North central Administered from Allahabad

Divisions are Agra,Allahabad and Jhansi.

11)North East Railway being controlled from Gorakhpur

Divisions are Izzathnagar and Varanasi.

12)North Western Railway administered from Jaipur

Divisions are Jaipur,Jodhpur,Ajmer and Bikaner.

13)West Central Railway-Jabalpur

Divisions are Bhopal,Kota and Jabalpur

14)South East getting control from Kolkata
