No , because most of the Indian sepoys in the Bengal region were Brahmins and they saw it as the danger to their caste because according to traditional belief , it was considered a taboo for a Brahmin to cross the seas .

This led to a feeling of resentment among them.

As per the General Service Enlistment Act , Indian soldiers were sent overseas.
