According to my Point of view, Indian society is an egalitarian society , because here all individuals are born equal and every members of Indian society have a right to equal opportunities. During designing of Indian constitution , constitution maker felt that weaker sections of society can be exploited in the future, on this possibility they gave some reservations to weaker sections of society too where their rights are safeguarded and they are considered equal.
