yes , Indian standard time ( IST ) is determined by meridian. The meridian which is determined as Indian standard time is 82°30'E because and all the watches in our country run according to IST. And also this os the reason why the sun rises two hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujrat.
