Diwali is a festival full of joy, happiness, excitement and pleasure.

Importance of Diwali -

Diwali is celebrated each year to end the darkness and evils from our souls and our surroundings. It is celebrated because on this day, Lord Ram (Hindu God), Sita (Ram's wife) and Lakshaman (Ram's brother) came to home (ayodhya) after 14 years exile, Diwali is celebrated for welcome back of hindu's holy lord Ram because they came after defeating the king of demons, Ravan. In their exile, Ram defeated and killed Ravan, king of demons, because he abducted Sita, Ram's wife.

How it is celebrated -

It is celebrated by lighting up diyas and burning fire crackers. People meet their relatives. They live together. They buy new clothes. They make special dishes to eat. They make sweets. They drawings (Rangoli) on the front of their doors. They clean and decorate their houses. They pray to god. And the whole day goes on with happiness, love for others, and excitement.

We celebrate this festival because on this day lord rama and sita and laksman will come to ayodhya after 14 years exile and even the demon ravan will be killed.This is celebrated on 14 november.On this day all relatives will meet.They fire cracker.They will keep rangoli's infront of their houses.The scientific fact is that mosquitos and insects will die more on this day because of crackers.They buy new clothes.They makes sweets and eat.And the whole day goes on with happiness, love for others, and excitement.According to me Festivals are the occasions of joy and they mark certain events of the past. Festivals are celebrated all over the world.India is a country with colours,energy,love towards each other,kindness etc.
