India’s cross border relationships post independence vary depending on the country bordering our motherland. While relationship with some countries has been cordial, the relationship with some others has been less peaceful.

For example, with the neighboring country of Nepal, India has by and large maintained a friendly relationship although there have been some instances of minor differences.

On the other hand, the relationship with Pakistan has been less amicable. There have been various conflicts on and off, especially with respect to Kashmir state.
