Slowly with time along with agriculture the people started learning new crafts and ventured into new occupations like carpentry, fishing, blacksmiths, ship building who did basic but important jobs which helped them survive and live in a better way than before.

They would often export their finished goods to other countries and earn some amount of money which helped the economy of that time.

Based on the archaeological findings, it was discovered that Sangam Age people sold handicrafts and helped the economy.
