The reaction of acetic acid with calcium hydroxide would give calcium acetate. (neutralisation)
2CH3COOH+Ca(OH)2——→(CH3COO)2Ca+2H2O

2. Dry distillation of the above calcium salt with calcium formate would yield acetaldehyde.

(CH3COO)2Ca+(HCOO)2Ca——→CH3CHO+2CaCO3
