Rules for conversion of Indirect Speech to Direct Speech
Use the reporting verb, "say" or "said to" in its correct tense.
Remove the conjunctions "that, too, if or whether, etc". ...
Insert quotation marks, question marks, exclamation, and full stop, wherever necessary.
Put a comma before the statement.
Examples
Direct: She says, “I am ill.”
Indirect: Her father said that he was living in London now.
Direct: I am living in Paris.
Indirect: He said that he was living in Paris.
