Profit on selling 1 cotton saree = + Rs 100

Loss on selling 1 synthetic saree = - Rs 40

(a).

loss on selling 80 synthetic sarees = - Rs 3200

Let the no. of cotton sarees sold = x

profit on selling x cotton sarees = Rs 100 x

so,

-3200 + 100x = -1000

100x = 2200

x = 22

so, no. of cotton sarees sold = 22

(b).

profit on selling 50 cotton sarees = + Rs 5000

Let the no. of synthetic sarees sold = y

loss on selling y synthetic sarees = - Rs 40y

now,

5000 - 40y =0

40y = 5000

y = 125

So, no. of synthetic sarees sold = 125total CP is equals to 2400 + 4000 equals to rupees 6400 - 6000 = rupees 400 loss is equals to minus b equals to 3400 - 600 is equals to 400 therefore loss percent equals to loss by CP in 200 equals to 400 6400 in 200 = 200 / 16 equals to 6.25 percent is
