Yes started in begal as they 1st invaded in Bengal only as you know about battle of plassy.
Crops like - indigo, jute, cotton opium etc.were grown and taken by British
They forced people to grow indigo as it was expensive but there was a bad effect of indigo
If a field is grow with indigo then it becomes infertile
