Industrial units generally releases wastes and effluent .When does these wastes become a cause of water pollution ?Is this the only cause of water pollution ?If not what other sources may lead to water pollution?.

1. Industries are growing in number leading to industrialisation. But they have adverse effect on environment.
2. The harmful and toxic effluents that released by chimneys of industries add on pollutants to the atmosphere.
3. The main reason of air pollution is industry.
4. Similarly, industries release harmful wastes such as plastics , chemicals etc which pollute the water bodies when these get mixed with them .
5. When untreated toxic wastes are released to water bodies, the ground water also gets contaminated leading to wastage and water pollution.
