IN FOOD INDUSTRY- Yeast, a fungus, is used in baking industry for fermentation purpose and helps in making breads, cakes etc. Lactobacillus, a beacterium, is used for setting curd. Some bacteria are also used to make cheese.

IN MEDECINE INDUSTRY- Various antibiotics like streptomycin, tetracycline, erythromycin are produced from microbes like fungi and bacteria.

(Yeast is also commercially used in large scale production of alcohol, wine and vinegar.)

microbes are microscopic organisms. They are used in large - scale industrial processes. They produce chemicals such as ethanol,which is used as a fuel,solvent and for other many other purposes,as well as glycerol.
