Yes. Industries are necessary for development of nation , as new technology and new products can make a progress nation.This also can make increase in nations financial conditions..

But due to industries, their wastage is being let out in river or smoke is let out in air, this is causing a lot in pollution and also harm to environment. As they let out their waste in river waters , rivers are getting polluted, by which people can't get fresh or good water. As industries let out smoke in air, it mixes up in air due to this we can't get pure oxygen...So this all should be controlled. ...
