yes the above statement is true as industries are responsible for the unhygienic conditions of the environment in urban areas as while processing or making the goods or materials by the country it releases the unwanted particles of matter outside in the environment. the unwanted particles or matter is unhygienic and thus it pollutes the environment leading to several environmental pollutions.

Hey!!!  Yes, industries are responsible for the unhygienic conditions of the environment in urban areas. Many industries drain the waste water into rivers and pollute them. Also, the harmful gases released from these industries pollute the air. The pollution of river water leads to spread of diseases when the river water is supplied to the taps of houses. Air pollution leads to acid rain which is very harmful not only to humans but also the monuments. Industries are generally not located in  rural areas but then also environment is polluted. Many people wash clothes, cattle in the river and pollute the river water. Air pollution is some what less as compared in urban areas. Thus, the industries pollute the environment in urban areas.    #BE BRAINLY
