Yes In the OLD Regime a huge social differences and inequalties exist in the france
- The society was divided into clergy, Nobility and 3rd state
- Among these clergy who are related to church and nobility who are land lords had birth previlleges
- But the 3 rd state who comprises of business man, peasents, artisians ,lawyers etc had no any privelleges
- Only 3rd state member had to pay tax
- Peasents had to begar for fedual lords

- France was in a severe economic crisis during the latter half of the 18th century. Because of the Seven Years War against the British, the state was almost in bankruptcy
- French society was divided into three estates, that is clergy, nobility and the common man.
- The members of church and nobility enjoyed certain privileges by birth, the most important being the exemption from paying taxes to the state.
- Feudal dues were extracted by nobles from peasants and 1/10th of the produce was given to clergy in the form of taxes. All members of third estate had to pay taxes which burdened them and this frustration led to the cause of French revolution.
