Inert gases have very high ionization potential because of it having fully filled orbitals which are a cause of their stability. As they have full filled orbitals they have perfect symmetry and a larger value of exchange energy which causes the atom to have lesser internal energy and hence, it becomes stable. Ad the atom has less internal energy being stable it requires more energy to excite an electron from a lower energy state to a higher energy state hence, having higher value of ionization potential.

Since inert gases are in their most stable form, it is more unfavorable to remove their valence electrons than those of any other atom in the same period. As a result, more energy (ionization energy) is required to "pull" a valence electron away from inert gases.
