Considering the above statement to be as: "Infinite lines(curves) can pass through a given point, it'd true.

Imagine a point on a piece if graph paper. Then pass a line through that point, it means that the line would include that point. A line by itself, is actually a combination of infinite points. If many points in the same direction are plotted and joined, a line thus produces.

Thus a line can pass through that point we imagined. Now pass another line from that point. Would it be possible? Of course, but that line would be towards a different direction. Hence many(infinite) lines can be drawn in the same pattern each having a different direction(in a layman term).
