Write a letter of apology to your friend Ashish, explaining how you lost the notebook. Also, offer to prepare a new notebook for him. Unfortunately I have misplaced the English notebook I had borrowed from you that day, I am deeply sorry my friend. I am pretty sure I had that note in my bag but after lunch, someone must've took it. I searched it everywhere and questioned everyone at class but I couldn't find it

I admit it's my fault I lost your notebook, I should've been more careful. Sorry, Ashish. I will arrange for a new notebook for you immediately and I hope you'll forgive me for my mistake. I am in regret and apologize for the loss of your notebook.. please forgive me.
