Trimeresurus stejnegeri is a species of venomous pit viper endemic to Asia. Two subspecies are currently recognized.

They are found all over the world, with the exceptions of Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand, Madagascar, north of the Arctic Circle and island clusters such as Hawaii.

Common names for this pit viper include Stejneger's pit viper,Chinese pit viper,Chinese green tree viper,[5] bamboo viper,Chinese bamboo pitviper,Green bamboo viper,and Chinese tree viper.

Viper, (family Viperidae), any of more than 200 species of venomous snakes belonging to two groups: pit vipers (subfamily Crotalinae) and Old World vipers (subfamily Viperinae), which are considered separate families by some authorities. They eat small animals and hunt by striking and envenomating their prey.

Trimeresurus gramineus( INDIAN TREE VIPER )

It was first described in 1802 as Coluber graminaeus.No subspecies are recognized.

The range of this species has been restricted to southern India especially widespread in a large area of Tamil Nadu. It is also very rarely seen near Harishchandragad and some other mountain ranges of Western Ghats

It is found in bamboo groves and forests, usually near streams.

It feeds on lizards and birds

Adult females gives birth to 6 to 11 young, which measure up to 4.5 in (110 mm) in length.
