The satellites which are Huma-made are known as artificial satellites(Human made satellite orbiting the earth). Satellites sent into space by man are called artificial satellites. 

On 4 October 1957, the first artificial satellite was sent into the space , which is named as Sputnik-1 by the former USSR .

On 19 March 1975, the first satellite of India was sent into space, which is named as Aryabhatta.
