Brain is the main organ of the central nervous system. It located in the head, protected by the skull. The human brain is the largest brain of all vertebrates relative to the body size. The largest part of the brain is cerebrum, which is divided into two hemispheres. The brain is made up of three parts: the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain. The forebrain consists of cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus ( part of the limbic system). The midbrain consists of the tectum and tegmentum. The hindbrain is made of the cerebellum, pons, and medulla.
The function of the brain : The brain stem sits beneath the cerebrum and in front of the cerebellum. It connects the rest of the brain to the spinal cord, which runs down our neck and back. The brain stem is in charge of all the functions our body needs to stay alive, like breathing air, digesting food, and circulating blood.
