Before the evolution of the microscopes, the study of the cells was not possible, after the evolution of the electron microscope, the cells were visible, but observation of the organelles was  difficult. the electron microscope allowed the  view of the structure present inside the cells. With higher resolution and magnification, the electron microscope helped in the study of various cellular processes too. So, after the evolution of the electron microscope, studying cells were easy.
