The Dev Ashwini Kumaras are depicted in Rig Veda and are two handsome males. They are Divine doctors or Physicians, who serve other Gods (Devas). They are associated with the twilight and are worshiped on the second day in a lunar fortnight (Dwitiya). They are also the brothers of twins Yama and Yami, the children of Sun and Chhaya. They are considered to kind, helpful.  There are many stories associated with the Ashwini Kumars in Puranas. These stories often focus the struggle of the brothers to be accepted amongst the Devas and how their success through patience, intelligence and dedication.
