metals like gold or silver are very unreactive but the oxides of these metal can be reduced to metal by heating alone the sulphide ores of such metals are heated in the presence of suffecient amount of oxygen ie these ores are roasted and then the oxide ore of the metal is heated in the presence of limited supply of oxygen
NOW this metal undergoes refining process through which all impurities in them are removed. Metals like gold are refined electrolytically.
