Extraction Of silver :
1.Silver can be extracted from Ag2S by using displacement from aqueous solution.
2.Ag2S is dissolved in KCN solution to get dicyanoargentate (I) ions. From these ions silver is obatined in the form of Precipitate by treating it with Zinc dust.
CHEMICAL EQUATION:
Ag2S +4CN⁻---->2[Ag(CN2]⁻ + S²⁻
2[Ag(CN2]⁻ +Zn(s) -----> [Zn(CN)4²⁻ +2Ag(s)
Extraction of Gold:
Gold is extracted from the ore called as Electrum by treating the ore with weak cynaide solution.
Zinc is added and gold separates from the ore.
Extraction of platinum:
Extraction of platinum involves froth flotation and smelting
