Here is some conversation between victim of flood and interviewer:

1. When were you flooded?

A:   It was in June.

2. Had you ever been flooded before?

A:   I'm used to the river sneaking up on me and floods. I'm used to those dudes.

3. How long did you have to prepare for the flood last summer?

A:   We got that rain up north and that filled up the creeks and the river. Overnight you woke up and all of a sudden you looked up the street and had water marching after you. It was just like a marching band coming up the street.

4. What steps did you take to protect and save belongings at David's house before the water got there?

A:   Anything in particular we loaded up on trailers on trucks and tractors to get it out of there. At Dave's we didn't have time to yank out the furnace and hot water heater.

5. How hard is the anticipation of a flood, when you know it's coming and all you can do is wait for the water to get there?

A:   Very, very depressing and stressful.

6. How much of David's house was flooded?

A:   A full basement.

7. How high did the water get around the house?

A:    That house happens to sit higher down there. It got up on a couple front steps. It still had higher to go to get inside.

8. How long was the property under water?

A:    It wasn't so terrible long. Let's say 24 hours.

9. What was your reaction when seeing the house and property covered and surrounded by water?

A:    I've got pictures of my trailers and trucks and antiques just sitting there in the water like a duck. You know it's going to cost thousands of dollars when the water goes down.

10.  What did the property look like once the flood receded?

A:   The house was beautiful. The basement was mud and muck.
