P. V. Sindhu WikiP. V. Sindhu aka Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player. She is the first Indian woman to win a Olympic silver medal and is the fifth female Olympic medalist for India. She has also received international fame by ranking in the Top 20 Badminton World Federation in 2012. In 2013, she played first Indian women's singles and won a medal at the World Championships. In 2016, Sindhu has won the Silver medal at Olympic Games Rio 2016.
BiographyP. V. Sindhu was born on 5 July 1995 in Hyderabad, India. She started playing Badminton from the age of eight. She has studied at St. Ann's College for Women. She initially took guidance from Mehboob Ali at the badminton courts of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. Later she got trained under Pullela Gopichand's badminton academy. She has won several medals under Gopichand's training. At the age of 13, Sindhu won the singles title at the Sub-juniors in Pondicherry. She also won the under-14 team gold medal at the 51st National School Games in India.

The 83-minute match resulted in favour of the Spaniard against Indian, eventually Sindhu clinching Silver Medal. She created history of achieving the feat as she is youngest and first women individual to bag Olympic Silver medal representing India.
