Question tag is added to a particular sentence in order to convert it into a question . It is especially used when we we expect the answer to be in yes or no kind .

★ What is a Question tag ?

When an auxiliaries form is changed in a sentence from positive or negative form to its opposite and add it with a sense of a question ; question tag is formed.

★ How to add a Question tag ?

  • Identify the auxiliary in the sentence . Auxiliaries are the words that act as verbs . Examples : am ,is , are , was , were , can , etc.

  • Check their form and change it . If they are in negative form change change it into positive form and if they are already in positive form change into negative .

  • Add a comma after given sentence.

  • Add the newly formed auxiliary after the comma and take to pronounce form of the verb and put it next to the auxiliary.

  • End up with a question mark .

Examples :

  • She did that . => She did that , didn't she ?

  • She can be cured . => She can be u cured , can't she be ?

  • Ray will come . => Ray will come , won't he ?
