Answer:
The emergence of the Rajputs was the outcomes of the death of Harshavardhana and the breakup of Pratihara Empire. They dominated the Indian political scene nearly 500 years of the 7th century. As per sacred scriptures like Puranas, Mahabharata and the Ramayana, there are three basic lineages (vanshas or vamshas) of Rajput such as-the Suryavanshi; the Chandravanshi or Somavanshies (the clans of the lunar dynasty); and the Agniculas (the clans of the fire dynasty).
Rajput is a large multi-component cluster of castes, kin bodies, and local groups, sharing social status and ideology of genealogical descent originating from the Indian subcontinent.
