Rock or stone is a natural substance, a solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. For example, granite, a common rock, is a combination of the minerals quartz, feldspar and biotite. The Earth's outer solid layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock. Rock has been used by humankind throughout history.

rock is a rigid solid made of sand
it takes many years in the formation of a rock
a huge amount of sand combines together due to various reasons like heavy blow of wind ans incessant rain and flood
you could find the texture of rock to identify the year of formation
there are many varieties of rocks like granite limestone marble
etc
important of all is they are natural one with various minerals and nutrients
even soil can be extracted from rocks by collision of rocks or heavy rain or suns heat or formation of living organisms such as lichens
