Terrestrial biomes include the tundra, coniferous forests, temperate grasslands, savannahs, deserts, tropical forests etc. They are all found on land surface of the earth.

Rivers, lakes, oceans etc. come under Aquatic biomes. Aquatic biomes include water bodies on land surface as well as the oceans and is the largest biome. It may further be categorised into fresh water biomes and salt water biomes.

Biomes are regions with similar climate and vegetation.
