2011 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan was one of the world's biggest destructions. Following are the statistics:

(i) Date of Occurrence: The tsunami and earthquake hit the Japaneses coast on March 11, 2011.

(ii) Affected Cities: Tsunami had hit the Tohoku region of the country. This region is located to the Northeast of the country and comprises of cities; Akita, Aomari, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata.

(iii) Total Loss of Lives:
According to the reports, 115,895 died, 6,156 injured and 2,539 people went missing. 

(iv) Types of Damages:
The types of damages caused by the tsunami and earthquake included: 
                    (i) Loss of livelihood. 
                    (ii) Loss of household and housing.
                    (iii) Economic Downfall.
                    (iv) Increase in Expenditure.
                    (v) Loss of business.

The great Tsunami of Japan occurred in the year 2011 on 11th of March. The Tsunami was the result of the earthquake which rocked Japan killing thousands of people and relocating millions.

It thrashed the economy of Japan killing its people and giving Japan its major setback in years. Total there were 16000 deaths reported officially, the actual numbers could be a lot more and  470,000 were found to be displaced from their homes.The effected cities were in the pacific sides of the country
