surveyed the dalii Rajhara region of Chhattisgarh although they found rich iron ore deposits the site was not used due to the lack of a reliable supply of water later a better side walls discovered at the village of sakchi in Jharkhand it was close to deposits of high grade iron ore coal and other minerals. it was also near the meeting point of two rivers kharkai and subarnarekha. the Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO) was establised at this site. sadly jamshetji did not live to see his dream project. he died in 1904. the Tisco plant begin production in 1912. the Township that developed around it was named Jamshedpur in Honour of jamsetji Tata.
