Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is the terminal station and also the headquarters of the modern day Central Railway.The historic monument has been declared as a World Heritage Site in 2011.The construction of this beautiful architectural was started in 1879 and finished in 1888.
also the first nationalised and official train of India was from this CST station to Thane district of the Northern Mumbai.
Today the station is the worlds busiest railway station with approximately 12 million(1.2 crore) commuters everyday.
The station is located in the Mumbai city's downtown and is of utmost importance for the residents of Mumbai as most of the people have their jobs here in the downtown.The station also serves as a great local and foreign tourist attraction.
