= n / 2

= 6 / 2

= 3

median is 3

Q. Find the mean and median of the observations: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

Solution:

★ Total Number of Observations= 6

Mean (Average)

  \\ =  \frac{5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10}{6} \\  \\  =  \frac{45}{6}  \\   \\ =7.5 \\  \\

Median (Middle)

 \\   = \frac{7 + 8}{2}  \\  \\  = 7.5 \\  \\
