Lord Ganesha
He is the younger son of Parvathi Goddess and Shiva God. He is not born from his mother's womb.Parvathi Devi has made him with mud and given her few powers to Ganesha.Because Parvathi had no child as she is cursed by a women while Lord Shiva was doing tapasya-meditation.After completion of idol of Lord Ganesha Parvathi given powers.When she heard for the first time "MAA" from Ganesha she felt very happy.
One day she said to Ganesha to not disturb her she is doing special pooja or yagna.
Ganesha obeyed her words and who ever came to call Parvathi as her son ganesh stood out and did fight with who ever came to call her mother.At last Shiva came and when he seen his son he got very much happy and asked his son to allow him to meet Parvathi.But,ganesh refused and in anger Shiva took his trishul and it cutted the ganesha's head.In fractions of minutes Ganesha fall on land and died.After completion of Parvathi's puja she came out of the cave and when she seen her son on the land with head cut she got very much angery and asked everyone who are present there who has killed his son and when she come to know that her husband has killed Ganesha she unable to control her anger and said that she will destroy whole world and turned into Kaali.But Shiva said that he will bring back his life till evening and Parvathi agreed.Shiva said to his GAI mean cow to search an animal head but he should himself allow to give his head happily and should his head at sun rise side faced.
In this way while searching they got elephant and that elephant is great devotee of Shiva and so it agreed happily to give it's head.
In this way as a normal human being to ganesh got elephant's head so now a days we see Lord Ganesha in this shape only.
