Northeast India :(officially called north Eastern region NER ) is the easternmost region of India representing both a geographic and political administrative division of the country.It comprises the eight States Arunachal Pradesh,Assam,Nagaland , Sikkim,and Tripura.The siliguri corridor in West Bengal, with a width of 21 to 40 kilometers(13 to 25 miles) connects the North Eastern region with East India .The region shares more than 4,500 kilometers(2,800 mi ) of international broader with Tibet in the North,myanmar in the east , Bangladesh in the South West and Bhutan to the Northwest.It comprises an area of 262,230 square kilometers(101, 250 sq mi) , almost 8 percent of that of India, and is the largest Salient (panhandle) in the world.

Assam ,Meghalaya, Manipur ,Mizoram , Arunanchal Pradesh ,Nagaland ,Tripura and Sikkim all states that make up North eastern India. Bengali Assamese and Nepali are some languages used in this region is reason. This is home to many tribes like the khasi ,the naga and the museum they have their own languages and traditional clothes. In Assam women wear the mekhla chador. in Sikkim both men and women wear a long dress called the bakhu. The people of north is generally eat rice. Momos and non vegetarian dishes are also popular. There ameen e tribal festivals and this reason, and many people celebrate. In Assam. the Bihu festival is held three times the year. Among the dances are Bihu and Sattriya from Assam, Manipuri and Thang Ta from Manipur and Cheraw from Mizoram.
