Infrasonic sound is a sound which has frequency that is less than 20 Hertz . This sound cannot be detected by human ear . Therefore they are inaudible . Example animal such as whales and elephants communicate through infrasonic sounds .

Ultrasonic sound is a sound which has frequency that is more than 20000 hertz or 20 kilo Hertz . This sound can also not be detected by human ear . Therefore they are also in audible . Example animal suggest dogs can hear ultrasonic sounds .
