Answer:-

Magnetic field lines :- It is a hypothetical energetic field lines such that when a tangent is drawn at any point in a magnetic field lines gives the direction of magnetic field lines.

An activity to draw a magnetic field lines out side a bar magnet :-

Aim :-

To show the magnetic lines emerge from North and merge at South.

Material Required:-

A bar magnet, Iron sprinkles, a paper.

Procedure :-

Take the magnet and keep it in paper now sprinkles irons particles above it.

You see that the iron particles arranges themselves in a closed curve

Conclusion:-

Magnetic field lines emerges from North pole of a bar magnet and merge at South pole.

2) A freely suspended magnet always point in a North - South direction because the magnetic field of earth lies from South to North so,that they arrange itself in respect of earth magnetic fields.Thats, why earth act as a big magnet.
