Answer: Ingestion of food is difficult without teeth because teeth help in mastication of food.

Mastication of food is a mechanical process that involves girding of food so that the large complex food can be broken down into smaller particles, which can then be further digested with the help of various digestive enzymes. This increases the surface area for food for the digestive enzymes to act upon.

In other words, teeth help in chewing of food. After this, food is easily ingested or swallowed through esophagus.
