To make an Idli urad dal:
Wash rice 6 to 8 times, drain water and roast on a pan till the rice grains become almost dry, soak rice immediately in cold water, wash and soak urad dal separately, after that grind rice and make a coarse batter of urad dal, add salt, when the batter is fermented smear idli pans with lilltle oil and cook idlis in pressure cooker without weight then stop the pressure and wait for 10 minutes then serve.
