Factory farming is cruel, wreaks havoc on our bodies and accounts for more greenhouse gas emissions than all transport combined.

Explanation:

  • In addition to condoning institutionalized animal cruelty, factory farming also causes massive environmental destruction, poses serious risks to human health and contributes to rising poverty levels. Intensive animal agriculture is more devastating to the natural environment than any other human activity. According to a report published by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, animal agriculture generates more greenhouse gas emissions than all transportation vehicles combined.
  • Animals, such as pigs, chickens and cows live in small groups in conventional agriculture practises and have space to move around, and can display  their natural behaviours . Where animals are kept in unnatural conditions large numbers of animals are kept together, and the waste that they produce can become a dangerous problem for both animals and the people living next to the farm. Manure mismanagement induces surface water , soil and groundwater contamination.
  • During the digestive process, livestock emit methane gas. Factory farms also have localised sources of emissions of methane gas. Land and rainforests are cleared for pasture and raising animals. Land is needed as feed to the animals raised at the farm, for the supply of drinking water to animals and the cleaning of farmland, slaughterhouses and transportation vehicles. This is a major draw on our water supply to grow these crops.
  • Global warming is stepped up by industrial farming, producing huge quantities of greenhouse gases. The development of factories fosters climate change and produces large volumes of carbon dioxide and methane  and these impacts will intensify over time, with possible catastrophic consequences. Climate change is already affecting our goods. Increased temperatures could, for example, put more stress on water shortage areas and make rearing animals & growing food crops more difficult.
  • All major environmental media, including water , soil and climate, are affected adversely by industrial farming activities. Contamination of soil and surface water supplies with contaminants, agricultural or industrial products, and microorganisms such as viruses, fungi and bacteria  are major environmental and human health problems. .  Unsustainable use of groundwater for feed, animal treatment and slaughterhouses leads to a water deficit and depletes essential services that future generations require.
  • It is necessary to explain the connection to study the factors that causes environmental degradation  so as to help grasp the breadth of the possible impacts of these factors on the environment and to recommend solutions. A study is important because we are living in an urban environment where all sorts of things like air , food and water are poisoned by industrial activities. It's rampant waste. A proper knowledge of the atmosphere is required in order to mitigate this problem.
  • Environmental studies allow people to follow a planning plan without environmental damage. It tells the public about the diverse ecosystems and environmental risks. It will encourage people to enhance the quality of life through environmental protection. It will remind people about the significance and the need to save the world. Moreover, it will enable to protect animals from such inhuman farming methods and strategies could be considered to minimise the effects of inhumane farming methods

Answer:

Factories and Environmental Degradation

Explanation:

Factories negatively impact the environment through air pollutant emissions, toxic waste disposal and water contamination. Besides, they're also the major offenders when it comes to greenhouse gas contributions. Factories alone are responsible for nearly two-thirds of the emissions to blame for global climate change. The most common factory air pollutants are greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels. Factories contribute to water and land pollution by acidifying rain, chemical spills and disposal of toxic waste.

Waste water from manufacturing or chemical processes in industries contributes to water pollution. Industrial waste water usually contains specific and readily identifiable chemical compounds. Water pollution is concentrated within a few subsectors, mainly in the form of toxic wastes and organic pollutants.

According to a study conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, it has been found that industrial pollution accounts for approximately 50 percent of the pollution in the United States of America
