A light year is the distance that light travels in one year at constant speed.

Light year = speed of light × one year

Speed of light =c = 3.00 × 105 miles per second

Time =t= 3.154×107 seconds

d=c×t

d=(3.00× 〖10〗^5 )  ×(3.154 ×10^7)

=9.46 × 〖10〗^12=9.5 trillion miles

Let’s convert the light years into miles and kilometers.

Light year to kilometer ----- 9.46×1012 km

Light year to miles ------- 5.88 ×1012miles

Therefore, Ezhilan was correct.
