Let T = the number of gallons the tank can hold.

Your equation becomes

1/4 T + 5 = 2/3 T

5 = 2/3 T - 1/4 T

5 = 8-3/12

5 = 5/12

1= 5/12× 1/5

=12

So the capacity of the tank in the gallons is =12

hope this may helps you.!
