Initially, girls grow faster than boys but by about 18 years of age, both reach their maximum height.

The rate of growth in height varies in different individuals.

Some may grow suddenly at puberty and then slow down, while others may grow gradually...

The growth of a person is monitored by growth hormones in human beings , which is secreted by Master gland ''Pituitary Gland''. It is more or less secreted in a person's body depending on his diet. In case of girls, their body secretes more growth hormones during the age of 8 - 13.

But in case of boys, it is secreted during age of 12 - 15 or 16 , during Puberty.

So, girls grow faster than boys. But its secretion stops at a particular age which is different for every person. By age of 18, this growth hormone stops being secreted.
