Total words in 12 pages = 12 × 32 × 100 = 38,400

In second case, each page contains the number of lines = 48

words in each line are now 20% less = 100 -(20% × 100)

                                                             = 100 - 20

                                                             = 80 words

Let the number of pages in second case = n

Total words in n pages = 48 × 80 × n

But the ink is half so,

48 × 80 × n = \frac{38400}{2}

3840n = 19200

n = \frac{19200}{3840}

n = 5

The ink will last for 5 pages.
