★GIVEN :

Circumference of path = 440 cm

Width = 14

★TO FIND :

Outer diameter?

★SOLUTION :

Firstly let's find the radius

\sf \: 440 = 2 \dfrac{22}{7}440=2

7

22

\sf \: 440 = 2 \times \dfrac{22}{7}440=2×

7

22

\sf \: 440 = \dfrac{44}{7}440=

7

44

\sf \: r = \cancel{ 440 \times \dfrac{7}{44}}r=

440×

44

7

\sf \: r = 10 \times 7r=10×7r=10×7r=10×7

Hence :-

Radius = 70 m

\sf \: Outer \: diameter = 2(70 + 14)Outerdiameter=2(70+14)

\sf \: Outer \: diameter = 168 \:Outerdiameter=168

Hence :-

Outer diameter = 168 m.

Explanation:

Let inner radius be r metres. Then, 2πr = 440 ; r = 440×7/44= 70 m.

Radius of outer circle = (70 + 14) m = 84 m.
