Given -

  • Inner Circumference = 440 m

  • Width of Path = 14 m

To find -

  • Find Diameter of Outer Circle.

Solution -

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Where,

π = 22/7

r = radius

Let the radius be termed as 'r'

On substituting the values -

Circumference of inner circle = 2πr

→ 440 =2 × 22/7 × r

→ 440 = 44/7 × r

→ r = 440 × 7/44

→ r = 7 × 10

→ r = 70m

Now for outer diameter -

→ Outer diameter = 2 × inner radius + width given

→ Outer diameter = 2 × (70 + 14)

→ Outer diameter = 2 × 84m

→ Outer diameter = 168m

\therefore Radius = 70m and outer diameter = 168m

Answer:

Given :-

  • Circumference of path = 440 cm
  • Width = 14

To Find :-

Outer diameter

Solution :-

Firstly let's find the radius

 \sf \: 440 = 2 \dfrac{22}{7} r

 \sf \: 440 = 2 \times  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times r

 \sf \: 440 =  \dfrac{44}{7} r

 \sf \: r = \cancel{ 440 \times  \dfrac{7}{44} }

 \sf \: r = 10 \times 7

Hence :-

Radius = 70 m

Outer diameter

 \sf \: outer \: diameter = 2(70 + 14)

 \sf \: outer \: diameter = 168 \: m

Hence :-

Outer diameter = 168 m.
