Chloroplast is the cell organelle which helps the plant in performing photosynthesis. It is a membraneous structure made up of 3 membranes. The third membrane is the thylakoid membrane. It consists of sac like structures piled like coins one above the other known as grana. It is believed to be a site for trapping sun light. The intermedeary fluid filled portion is called stroma. It is believed as a site for enzymatic reactions.
